Terms of Use

By creating an account, listing an item, proposing an exchange, or using Bata Credits on BataIt, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. These terms form a binding agreement between you and BataIt.

• You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter contracts in your country.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• Identity verification is optional for listing, but may be required to trade, receive credits, or resolve disputes. Verification documents are reviewed by our team and deleted after review per our Privacy Policy.

• You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
• You may not transfer, sell, or share your account or Bata Credit balance with another person.
• One account per person. Business accounts must represent a registered business and may list inventory under that entity.

You may only list durable physical goods that you own and are authorized to trade. You must describe items truthfully, including condition, year of manufacture, and known defects.

• Prohibited: weapons, illegal goods, counterfeit items, perishables, hazardous materials, regulated substances, and anything you do not have the right to trade.
• Listings are subject to a cap for non-Premium members. BataIt may remove any listing that violates these terms.
• Estimated values may be AI-assisted but the seller remains responsible for an honest price.

• Bata Credits are an internal platform unit used to facilitate exchanges and direct purchases. They are not money, are not a financial instrument, and carry no cash value outside the platform.
• Credits are minted and moved through an audited ledger. Your authoritative balance is held in your Wallet.
• Exchanges may require a refundable escrow deposit. Escrow is released when delivery is confirmed; it may be forfeited or adjusted if a dispute is resolved against you.
• Transaction and service fees apply. Premium members receive discounted fees. Fees are non-refundable once a transaction completes.

• An exchange is a binding agreement between the two parties once both confirm. Backing out after confirmation may incur a policy penalty.
• Items are verified by our courier at pickup. If an item does not match its listing, the exchange may be paused or cancelled and credits or escrow returned.
• Delivery notifications are sent as items move through the shipping stages. You must confirm receipt promptly once an item is delivered.

If something goes wrong, file a dispute with evidence from the Disputes page. Our moderators review disputes and may issue refunds, credit deductions, escrow adjustments, or account penalties. Repeat or serious violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent ban under our published policies.

• Premium membership is a recurring subscription billed through Base44 Payments. It unlocks unlimited listings, discounted fees, and direct credit purchases.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from your Wallet. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period.
• Direct item purchases with Bata Credits are available to Premium members and are separate from any subscription payment.
• On mobile apps, digital subscriptions may be billed through Apple or Google as required by their policies.

You may invite new users via your referral link. Referral bonuses are credited only when a referred user completes a qualifying first exchange. BataIt may change, suspend, or end referral rewards at any time and may void bonuses obtained through abuse or fraud.

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, descriptions) and grant BataIt a license to display it for the purpose of operating the marketplace. You must not post content that infringes the rights of others. The BataIt name, logo, and platform design are owned by us.

• BataIt is a marketplace facilitator. We are not a party to exchanges between users and do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items traded.
• To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the credits involved in the disputed transaction and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
• You use the platform at your own risk and agree to act in good faith toward other traders.

You may close your account from the Privacy Center. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Credits and open exchanges are settled according to our policies before closure, and you remain responsible for any pending obligations.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where BataIt operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless we agree otherwise.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
